Rain Garden in Action

One of the LCWC members of the Board who lives in Camden replaced grass in his front lawn with a rain garden a number of years ago.

“Living beyond a sustainable level has consequences.”

Looking through the Sacramento Bee an article published this week popped out at me. The article talks about Sacramento area water use and limitations that this area will face in the near future… “Living beyond a sustainable level has consequences. We’re going to have to bring the use of water into a reasonable balance with available supplies.”

Smart Irrigation Month in the Heat of July!

The year has sped by and here we are already at the half way point, smack-dab in the middle of some extreme heat in the Sacramento Valley. With all this extreme heat the LCWC wants to make sure we start out July the right way by kicking off Smart Irrigation Month!

Planning for Sustainable Development

The LCWC plays an important role in ensuring that any project development in the watershed considers the health and protection of our local creeks. We are always on the lookout for projects that could impact our neighborhood creeks.
