Happy 4th of July! The year has sped by and here we are already at the half way point, smack-dab in the middle of some extreme heat in the Sacramento Valley. The latter part of June got pretty hot with record breaking triple digits. Downtown Sacramento reached a whooping 107 which tied the previous high temperature from way back in 1950, and out by the Sacramento Executive Airport the temperature hit 107, beating out the record of 106 from June 29th, 1972. (www.sacbee.com) And some reports say we might just find ourselves getting hotter in the month of July.
With all this extreme heat the LCWC wants to make sure we start out July the right way by kicking off Smart Irrigation Month!
