Hello, Watershed!

Just wanted to follow up on the report about our preseason bird box check and maintenance we wrote about here. Last week we noticed that a pair of tree swallows were shuttling nest material into one of our newly installed passerine boxes.  We decided to set up with a camera over the weekend and this is what we found:

If you look carefully, you can see the nesting material poking out of the cracks in the box.  We will continue to monitor the boxes and share what we find with you.  We have also scheduled a second bird box building and installation event for May 22nd.  You can see the write up from last year’s event here.  This year’s event will take place at Zimbelman Park at 9:30 AM.  Plan to come out an join us!
