The UC Center for Hydrologic Modeling recently released a study of our groundwater resources.  These resources have been drawn on heavily in these past few years.  The report identifies a serious threat to future municipal and agricultural use of groundwater.  In the Central Valley, since 1962, we have lost approximately 50 million acre-feet of groundwater.  To learn more about the groundwater issues  read the summary of the report (click link below), or the full report itself.  This information reinforces the importance of using water carefully.
